1 pound(s) thick cut bacon |
6 tablespoon(s) brown sugar |
1/2 teaspoon(s) black pepper |
1/4 teaspoon(s) cayenne pepper |
1/2 teaspoon(s) red pepper chili flakes |
1 tablespoon(s) maple syrup |
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350ºF and line a rimmed baking sheet tray with parchment paper. Lay the bacon out across the parchment paper in a single layer. Try not to overlap the pieces of bacon and lay them nice and flat. Add the maple syrup, dark brown sugar, cayenne, red pepper and ground black pepper to a medium sized mixing bowl and mix well. Sprinkle the sugar mix over the bacon making it as even as possible. Use your hands or a spoon to pat the mix onto the bacon so that it is really stuck on well. Bake the bacon in the oven for about 20-25 minutes. Cook for longer if you like your bacon extra crispy. Let bacon cool for 5 minutes |
